We’ve teamed up with board-certified dermatologist Dr. Aegean Chan to make sun protection for your little ones easy to understand, and even easier to action! Let's go over our top tips for keeping babies and toddlers safe in the sun.

For babies under 6 months
Sun avoidance is the #1 rule.
Their skin is incredibly delicate and prone to sun damage, so when in doubt – stay in the shade.
-
Avoid direct sun exposure, especially between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
-
Avoid sunscreen unless absolutely necessary – check with your paediatrician first
-
Choose UPF-rated clothing, wide-brimmed hats, and use prams or pop-up tents for portable shade

For kids 6 months & up
At this stage of your little ones' growth, you can introduce mineral sunscreen while still prioritising protective clothing and shade.
What to look for? Mineral filters like zinc oxide or titanium dioxide (great for sensitive skin), and a broad-spectrum, SPF 30+, with water-resistant formulas.
Pro tip: Stick or roller formulas reduce mess and are toddler friendly!
Don't forget to reapply every 2 hours or after towelling off!
